A friend of my father's who I have only known to be referred to as, "Mike From Work" has taken the opportunity to ask me to produce a bit of animation for a song he's liked for years. It's called "Ride To Agadir" by Mike Batt who is best known for writing songs for The Wombles, the tv show The Dreamstone and the number "Bright Eyes" for the film, Watership Down.

The song basically details a group of Moroccans attempting to free the town of Agadir from the occupation of a platoon of French soldiers.

I severely doubt that I'll be putting the whole thing up on Youtube when I'm finished, as a distinct lack of discovery of research on what exactly the song is referring to means that some things required "artistic licience." I just have a vision of being swamped by comments from offended Moroccans/French yelling that the places or people didn't look like that!
I do aim to have a couple of clips turning up in my showreel though so there is a point to my telling everyone this -Something will be on display for your viewing pleasure!

At the moment, I've just finished all the backgrounds and so I'll(hopefully) be starting animation next week barring interuptions. It will be nice to get back into a bit of animation again and there are a few shots that I'm actually looking forward to drawing out.
Certainly I aim to getting the whole thing done by the end of the year then I can continue with a couple more musical storyboard projects. Woo!
